Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise builds on its more than 100-year history to create a strong future

Celebrating the past, looking to the future; the people who make us up
A great future is built on a strong history. We are fortunate to have been involved with some of the greatest inventors – and greatest innovations – of the last 100 years, starting with Aaron Weil, founder of Le Telephone Prive in 1919, renamed Telic in 1927, at a time when only a very small percentage of the French population owned telephones. Since its inception, ALE has grown into the company it is today. We continue to follow the vision that the future well-being and progress of humanity is possible through better connections. Our pioneers and visionaries ensure that ALE can connect you to future technologies.

Wi-Fi 7: Raising the Standards for Connectivity

Wi-Fi 7 is on its way to revolutionizing wireless networking, and at Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE), we’re at the forefront of this evolution. With the introduction of Wi-Fi 7 in 2024, we are excited to be able to offer our customers the latest innovations in wireless connectivity under our renowned Stellar Distributed Controller architecture.

Introducing Wi-Fi 7

With the continuous increase in the number of Wi-Fi devices and the growing demand for faster and more efficient wireless networks, Wi-Fi 7 emerges as the ultimate solution to address these requirements. Its unprecedented speed, lower latency, increased capacity, and innovative technologies position Wi-Fi 7 as the future of wireless. Whether you’re a tech enthusiast, a casual user, or a professional, Wi-Fi 7 brings us one step closer to a world of limitless possibilities. An extraordinary speed boost with Wi-Fi 7 – we’re talking 4.8 times faster than Wi-Fi 6 and 13 times faster than Wi-Fi 5!

Key Features of Wi-Fi 7

Wi-Fi 7 represents a significant step up from its predecessors, with a host of new features that elevate wireless connectivity to unprecedented levels. In the accompanying figure, we illustrate the fundamental advancements in the evolution of Wi-Fi generations, showcasing the cutting-edge features that distinguish Wi-Fi 7 and contribute to an enhanced wireless experience.

MLO (Multi-Link Operation)

Opening a new era in connectivity, Wi-Fi 7 introduces Multi-Link Operation, revolutionizing the way devices communicate by efficiently utilizing multiple links or channels simultaneously for improved speed and reliability.Wi-Fi 7 operates on 3 frequency bands: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz at the same time.

This advancement in Multi-Link Operation in Wi-Fi 7 is especially beneficial for mesh networks, facilitating seamless communication between access points (from AP to AP).

In addition to improving overall network performance, it helps reduce latency and promises wider bandwidth for compatible clients. With support for this feature, users can expect optimal conditions for demanding applications such as 4K/8K video streaming and immersive experiences such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and extended reality (XR).

  • Wider Channel Bandwidth

Wi-Fi 7 supports three super-wide channel bandwidths. While the maximum channel bandwidth in Wi-Fi 6 and 6E is 160 megahertz, Wi-Fi 7 can support up to 320 megahertz, effectively doubling capacity and increasing speed to up to 46 Gbps, which is almost 5 times faster than Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E.

In addition, these wider channels help reduce congestion.

  • 4096K QAM (4096K Quadrature Amplitude Modulation)

Wi-Fi 7 introduces 4096K Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (4096K QAM), a cutting-edge technology that significantly increases data transfer rates by packing more information into each stream. Wi-Fi 7’s QAM is 4096k, four times the amount of its immediate predecessor. The increase in QAM means a 20% increase in total throughput, which translates into higher capacity, a noticeable increase in data transmission speed, and therefore higher overall efficiency. This means that watching videos in 4K/8K, playing demanding online games without lag, or streaming live video from a home computer has never been easier. Improved data transmission efficiency ensures a smooth online experience, meeting the demands of today’s high-performance digital activities.

In short

As Wi-Fi 7 gains momentum in 2024, with few access points and devices available on the market, ALE is committed to leading the way. We’re proud to announce that our first Wi-Fi 7 Stellar access points will be available this year, bringing the speed, capacity, and reliability of Wi-Fi 7 to our enterprise networking solutions.

According to forecasts by Chris Depuy, Co-Founder and Technology Analyst at 650 Group, Wi-Fi 7 is expected to see significant growth by 2025, becoming the leading source of revenue for the enterprise WLAN industry. With more than 75% of revenue generated by Wi-Fi 7 access points over the next five years, there is a growing demand to take advantage of the new 6GHz spectrum and advanced capabilities offered by Wi-Fi 7.

At ALE, we are committed to providing our customers with state-of-the-art connectivity solutions that drive their business success. With Wi-Fi 7 and our Stellar Distributed Controller architecture, we’re poised to lead the next era of wireless connectivity, delivering unmatched speed, reliability, and security. Alcatel Lucent Enterprise recognizes Wi-Fi 7 as a true revolution in enterprise wireless networking, capable of delivering superior performance and greater efficiency compared to previous generations of Wi-Fi. The company is committed to the timely implementation of Wi-Fi 7 in its products, demonstrating its focus on innovation and its ability to adapt quickly to new technologies. ALE highlights the specific features of Wi-Fi 7:

  • as Multi-Link Operation (MLO)# • Wider Broadband Channel, 4096QAM, MU-MIMO 16×16, • Preamble Puncturing, AFC • Restricted Target Wait Time (r-TWT)

Highlighting how these features will improve the business user experience. Alcatel Lucent Enterprise’s strategy also includes continuing to offer products that support Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E to meet current market needs as it prepares to transition to Wi-Fi 7. In summary, Alcatel Lucent Enterprise is positioned as a leader in the adoption and deployment of Wi-Fi 7 in the enterprise environment, highlighting its commitment to innovation and its ability to provide cutting-edge wireless networking solutions that drive customer success
